Weight Management FAQ

How long does it take to reach my weight loss goals?

Since each person has different goals and body types there is no specific time. However, if you stick with the program and follow the recommendations you could lose up to 10 pounds in a week, with the average patient losing between 2 to 5 pounds a week.

What does low glycemic index mean?

The glycemic index (GI) is a ranking of the rate at which carbohydrates are broken down in your body. Low glycemic carbohydrates break down slowly in the body and thus release glucose slowly. This slow release in glucose results in a slow insulin release. Blood glucose and insulin levels help with hunger levels, mental clarity, immunity and disease prevention, as well as better moods.

Am I going to be hungry all the time?

No! Due to a low GI diet, glucose level fluctuations are minimal leaving the body longer. We also prescribe pharmacy grade appetite suppressants to help with hunger pains as well, leaving the body feeling fuller longer. FDA approved appetite suppressants help alleviate hunger as well.

Can I eat the foods I enjoy?

At Weight and Body Solutions we believe in moderation. It is okay for you to have a piece of your favorite chocolate once in a while or a bite of that birthday cake. The more you stick to the diet plan though, the greater results you will yield and the faster you will get to your weight loss goals!

Will I be tired?

No, stabilizing your blood glucose levels will result in more energy. Other benefits include mental clarity, immunity and disease prevention, as well as better moods. We also supply B12 injections to boost energy levels even more.

Can I have fruit?

Yes, our low GI diet encourages fruit. While not all fruits are low GI, you will be provided with a lengthy list that is program recommended.

Do I have to exercise every day?

While exercising every day is not imperitive, it is important to get in physical activity as part of the program. Because exercise and weight loss go hand in hand, we reccommend aerobic exercise at least 3 to 4 times a week for thirty minutes. Even those who do not wish to lose weight would benefit from an exercise regimen.

Can I eat red meat?

We recommend lean cuts no more than 2 or 3 times per week.

Do I have to eliminate fried foods or alcohol?

These foods should be avoided. Alcohol should be consumed in moderation.
